Each morning we are born again. What we do today is what matters most.
CONTINUING THE SERIES OF QUOTES ABOUT LIVING and STARTING ONE’S MIND SET/POSITIVE THINKING
Hello followers,
Happy Hump Day! I woke up today realizing that for the last two years Dan and I have been sharing clean living.
It just dawned on me that the first step of managing any disease is your mind set. You can take any kind of treatment, but if your mind set is poor, the results might be the same.
So, I’m starting a new series on ONE’S MIND SET/ POSITIVE THINKING. No one is taught this in school, which Dan and I feel are the first key to keeping our body healthy.
First, we need to find out what is your mindset right now! A mindset is essentially your emotional response to normal daily activities. This is important for health and quality of life. You may be unable to change your job, your family, where you live, or other major constraints that may underlie negative thinking. But you can approach life’s frustrations with positivity by challenging negative thoughts and improving your outlook on life.
Second, identify your negative thoughts. Cognitive behavioral therapy practitioners believe that we have the ability to change our behavior by changing our thoughts. Thoughts are the catalyst that led to behaviors. The first step in controlling your thoughts is awareness.
Third, keep a thought journal. If you have trouble identifying your negative thoughts, consider keeping a thought journal. In this journal, write down the way that you perceive different things; yourself, your work or school, your parents, politics, the environment, and so on.
This will force you to pay attention to the critical voice in your head and listen to what it’s saying. Take a few minutes every day to recall times when you thought something negative.
Dan and I are starting today with picking a positive word and using it in our daily routine, you can join in with us. Dan picked the word, Can! The other day, I posted some positive words that will help you to do this. What positive word did you pick today?
Fourth, quiet your inner critic by focusing on the positive. When you hear the voice in your head say something negative, take a pause and substitute the negative for something positive.
For example, if your mind keeps saying how much you are feeling bad, you can say, “this does not define me, I will get better – tomorrow is another day”.
Fifth, keep a gratitude journal. Record instances that occur in your life that you are grateful for.
Express them in a journal, letter, or other kind of writing. Write down some of the things that you’re thankful for. Write in this journal a couple of times every week.
Research shows that a gratitude journal is more effective when the person writes about a handful of instances in depth, rather than a laundry list. Spend a few minutes reliving and savoring these moments that you write about.
The gratitude journal will help you remember the positive things in your life.
Sixth, practice positive imagery. Imagine yourself in successful scenarios with as much detail as possible. Keep the negative thoughts like “I can’t do this” at bay. Instead, focus on how you can do something: “I can finish this project. I will ask for a little help and it will get done.”
When you strive to be confident in your activities and outlook, you will increase your potential for actually achieving your goals.
QUOTES ABOUT LIVING
INTUITION
Intuition is a sense just like sight or touch or any other. Some people have a stronger sense of intuition, just as some people have incredible hearing. Some people take the time to train their intuition the way most of us were trained to use our other sense while we were children.
There is no magic to it. Hearing uses sound, sight uses dimensional images, and intuition uses energy. Training and using your intuition are as valuable as using any other sense, and without it you’re missing part of the world.
SIMPLE JOYS
Head to a local market to buy fresh food to cook yourself a delicious meal. Notice the vibrant colors and smells of the fresh produce. Let yourself instinctively choose the foods you’re drawn to.
Often your body will tell you what it needs. It might be a basket of fresh fruit and vegetables or a freshly baked loaf of bread. Whatever it is, just go with it and enjoy it.

MY JOURNEY OF COMPLETION (Body, Heart and Soul) – Enjoy Life While Managing Cancer
This is the time to get ready for food and remedies that heal; alchemy of herbs. Today I’m going to continue blogging on the herb – NUTMEG. Now since I’m home from my mini vacation and have the book of recipes, later in the week I’ll share some with the ingredients of nutmeg.
Continuing on some more benefits of nutmeg. There are many fruits, vegetables, and herbs that can help control cholesterol levels. Nutmeg is one of those that can help reduce levels of bad cholesterol in the body as well as help to maintain levels of good cholesterol.
Adding nutmeg to your diet in large quantities can help you maintain healthy cholesterol due to the spice’s ability to lower hypolipidemic effects. These effects are what cause an increase in LDL’s.
Because nutmeg helps to reduce LDL’s, it has a secondary effect of improving heart health.
It is important to pair nutmeg consumption with a healthier diet that is rich in vegetables and leans in unhealthy fats. Physical activity will also help improve the benefits of nutmeg consumption as well. One way to incorporate nutmeg into your diet is by adding it to your coffee or tea.
You can also sprinkle it on pastries, vegetables, or even savory dishes for a nutty kick.
