I’ve discovered that every time we reach a milestone, we’re there, but there’s another waiting for us.
CONTINUING THE SERIES ON REMEMBER TO CELEBRATE MILESTONES AS YOU PREPARE FOR THE ROAD AHEAD AND ON LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE. PLUS, THE HERB – ASHWAGANDHA.
Hello Followers,
Well, the week is coming to an end.
Just last night as Dan and I was drinking coffee, we were deciding what our plans will be for Father’s Day week-end.
While looking over the field on our porch, there were several lightning bugs, lighting a path around us.
Yes, the lightning bugs are back.
They fly low to the ground as the lawn dissolves from green to black in the dusk.
They are like little flares in the darkness.
Now, let’s continue with exploring the 10th experience that we all experience and that is, earning a paycheck.
I can remember, my first job as a waitress.
I was fourteen and wasn’t good at it!
Getting a job and opening up that first paycheck is yet another big step towards adult independence.
Whether you’re still receiving financial support from family or not, getting paid is a milestone in life that most people remember.
You might not remember actually opening up that envelope, but you may remember going to the store with hard-earned cash in your pocket, or finally understanding the value of a dollar.
Yep, those were the days!
It’s the 16th day of June, Dan and I thought on continuing this segment with the series with some fun; What is it about June that’s so significant during this month?
Fresh Veggies Day – June 16, 2022
Fresh Veggies Day on June 16 is celebrated to commemorate the nutritional value of fresh vegetables and their importance to human health.
Fresh vegetables are the best sources of micronutrients that are vital for metabolism, growth, development, and disease prevention.
The natural fiber content in vegetables helps prevent constipation, hemorrhoids, and cancer.
According to “Food & Wine” magazine, there is no such thing as a bad vegetable.
Some may need extra work to remove an outer shell or be peeled, and some fare better when cooked.
However, there is no reason not to eat fresh vegetables every day.
Everyday in our home is Fresh Veggies Day, for we learned while treating our cancer in Mexico; that it’s a lifestyle.
Also, it’s World Sea Turtle Day – June 16, 2022
Dan and I are dedicating this day to Heckle our pet turtle.
World Sea Turtle Day is celebrated every year on June 16 to raise awareness about the plight of sea turtles.
Did you know that every year, about eight tons of plastic are dumped in our oceans?
That is extremely hazardous to sea turtles, so much so that six out of eight marine turtle species are on the verge of extinction.
There are many other threats to sea turtles, such as encroachment of coastal development on nesting beaches, marine pollutants, accidental drowning on fishing gear, and the international turtle meat trade.
HECKLE
Join Dan and I today to raise awareness about this important issue and save lives.
Time is precious and is priceless, so Dan and I will continue each day to pull from a box of 365 inspirational quotes; one quote and share with you.
Today is:
OUR LIVES CHANGE LIKE THE CHANGING SEASONS NEVER REMAINING THE SAME. THERE WILL BE GOOD TIMES AND BAD TIMES AND BITTER THAT MAKES US APPRECIATE THE SWEET.
Continuing from last year the series on LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE, by Elizabeth B. Brown.

Chapter 16; IS DIFFERENT SCREWED UP?
DIFFERENT BUT OKAY-
Don’t waste time trying to change someone who is different.
Marriage partners so often want to become one, one mind, one heart, one path.
Sounds good, but it is really tragic.
When two become one, one is lost.
The goal in any relationship should be for two to be two, as they walk together.
That’s growth!
Appreciating the differences in people around us expands and enlarges our world.
DON’T WASTE TIME TRYING TO CHANGE DIFFERENT, APPRECIATE IT.
This week Dan and I have been blogging on the herb; ASHWAGANDHA and the benefits.
It’s amazing what and how ashwagandha can help keep your body healthy?
Ashwagandha helps reduce symptoms of some mental health conditions.
Some evidence suggests that ashwagandha helps reduce symptoms of other mental health conditions, including depression, in certain populations.
In one study, researchers looked at the effects of ashwagandha in 66 people with schizophrenia who were experiencing depression and anxiety.
They found that participants who took 1,000 mg of ashwagandha extract daily for 12 weeks had greater reductions in depression and anxiety than those who took a placebo.
What’s more, findings from another study suggest that taking ashwagandha helps improve total symptoms and perceived stress in people with schizophrenia.
Limited research from 2013 also suggests that ashwagandha helps improve cognitive impairment in people with bipolar disorder.
However, more research is needed.
Additionally, a study from 2012 found that stressed adults who took 600 mg of ashwagandha extract per day for 60 days reported a 77% reduction in symptoms of depression, while the placebo group reported a 5% reduction.
However, only one of the participants in this study had a history of depression, so the relevance of the results is unclear.
Although some findings suggest that ashwagandha has some antidepressant effects in certain people, you should not try to use it as a substitute for antidepressant medication.
If you’re experiencing symptoms of depression, talk with a healthcare professional so you can get any help or treatment you may need.
The limited research available suggests that ashwagandha helps reduce symptoms of depression and benefit people with some mental health conditions.
