It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves.

CONTINUING THIS WEEK ON; SELF- WORTH AND ON LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE. ALONG WITH HOW SAFE IS MEXICO?

Hello Followers,

It’s Saturday, the week-end.

Halloween week-end!

How many of you are going to dress up?

If so, what are you going to be?

Just remember, never underestimate the power of having a high level of self-esteem and a strong feeling of self-worth.

They are both essential for looking after your mental health.

Life is better when you are confident and live each day being true to yourself.

AND

However, sometimes this is easier said than done.

Remembering how important it is to love and priorities yourself is essential to becoming happier and work towards creating a life that you love.

Don’t ask yourself what the world needs, ask yourself what makes you come alive.

And then go and do that.

Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

ITS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

I wrote this seven years ago on Facebook, it came up on memories yesterday.

Oct. 29, 2014

THE ENDING OF THE MONTH

This month was special to me for many family birthdays, my husband and my dad’s.

Both are special men that have influenced my life and gave me a chance to think outside the box.

I too had breast cancer, but this month wasn’t about survival, but education.

I wrote a book about my ordeal with cancer and how I managed it while enjoying life without all the treatment side effects.

People do not get it, healing yourself starts with a lifestyle change.

I used scientific methods in which the results were fabulous and suffered no loss of hair and never felt ill.

The first thing I learned from Dr. Perez was heat and oxygen kills just the bad cancer cells.

The treatments I received allowed the good cells in my body to remain.

The most important of all that I learned was what our environment is doing to us…

The pesticides and GMOs are what is helping us to get cancer.

This is why I go organic.

It’s not just what I eat, but also what I put on my skin.

It only takes 5 seconds to absorb in your skin.

One most important clue is that cancer feeds on sugar and wheat.

So, I now do not eat processed sugar or wheat.

I am gluten free.

Please, do your research and gain knowledge before it is too late.

Remember you can manage cancer ~ Knowledge is power.

In closing I am remembering a Facebook friend Christina for she lost her battle this month with breast cancer and all the others that have been suffering, it does not have to be that way.

My husband and I are Proof in the pudding, both had cancer and both did not have surgery, chemo nor radiation.

It’s all about the type of procedure you use and USA doctors only know one way the conventional way.

Look up Functional Medicine and research other ways.

Individual we are a drop, but together we are an ocean.

If anything, you get from this, I would like you to spread how important knowledge is and to think outside the box.

QUOTES ABOUT LIVING

SELF-WORTH

If someone asks you to do more and you have a big reaction inside, it may be a sign that you’re already doing too much.

Even strong, independent, hardworking people have limits and deserve to rest.

Doing your best is a wonderful thing, but doing all you possibly can for as long as you possibly can will eventually lead to burning out and feeling unappreciated by the people around you.

How many are you out there are left-handers?

I raise my left hand! When I was growing up, I learned everything right-handed; which made everything I did the wrong way.

WHY ARE THINGS SO TOUGH ON LEFT-HANDERS?

About 10 percent of the population is left-handed.

The rest are right-handed, and there are also about 1 percent who are ambidextrous, which means they have no dominant hand.

Not only are lefties outnumbered about 9 to 1 by righties, there are health risks that appear to be greater for left handers, too.

A 2007 study published in the British Journal of Cancer examined hand preference and cancer risk.

The study suggested that women with a dominant left hand have a higher risk of being diagnosed with breast cancer than women with a dominant right hand.

The risk difference is more pronounced for women who have experienced menopause.

However, researchers noted the study only looked at a very small population of women, and there may have been other variables that affected the results.

The study concluded further investigation is needed.

THE QUOTABLE LEFTY

It is better to stand on the wrong side of the ball, and hit it right; than to stand on the right side and hit it wrong.

- Motto of the National Association of Left-Handed Golfer’s

CONTINUING THE SERIES ON HOW SAFE IS MEXICO?

Dan and I grabbed an opportunity nine years ago, when we took on the adventure and moved to Mexico. Back then, we didn’t know what to expect, except that both of us were alive and ready for a change. We had been going to Tijuana for cancer treatments and knew somewhat what we were heading into. We ended up living in the center of the country however; better for travel purposes and it was nothing like what we had thought about. To this date, we are back in the states living in Virginia and what we took from Mexico was friendships, culture and understanding of their ways of life.

WITH PICTURES

Through thousands of pictures that I took, Dan and I are showing how safe Mexico is. There is a saying ‘A picture is worth a thousand words’; this is so true! A picture tells a story just as well as, if not better than, a lot of written words.

30 PICTURES - ENJOY THE SLIDE SHOW

"Chinese proverb. One picture is worth ten thousand words."

So, we will be posting a gallery of pictures on each post, hopefully you will see each one has a story.

Today will continue the series on LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE, by Elizabeth B. Brown. Dan and I continue to share ways to benefit and help keep one’s health cells healthy. A wise man told me ten years ago, when one is in balance with themselves; one stays healthy.

CHAPTER 8; HANDLING FRAZZLED EMOTIONS.

Today continuing on, know your limits-

Limits allow you to be an integral part of a relationship, but not be emotionally consumed or controlled by its dysfunction.

Know your boundaries and set your limits.

Tomorrow, self-control wins-

This is the time to get ready for food and remedies that heal; alchemy of herbs. In the coming week, Dan and I will be blogging the benefits of NETTLE. It’s amazing what and how nettle can help keep your body healthy?

Well, now that you know what benefits nettle provides; are you ready for some recipes?

Today’s recipe; NETTLE AND EGGPLANT SAUCE

Nettle is a nutritious plant that can be added to your diet long past its short growing season.

This recipe hydrates dried nettle and adds it to a spicy eggplant dish.

This recipe is full of flavor and is nutrient dense

Ingredients:

1 cup dried nettle leaf flakes

¾ cup chicken or vegetable broth

¼ cup olive oil

1 medium onion, thinly sliced

½ teaspoon whole cumin seeds

½ teaspoon salt

3 garlic cloves, minced

1 pound eggplant cut in ½ inch slices

1-pound tomatoes cubed

1 teaspoon chili powder

½ teaspoon coriander powder

1 teaspoon ginger powder

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

Instructions:

1. Place the nettle leaves in a small bowl and cover with the broth for approximately 15 minutes.

2. The broth should cover the nettle, if necessary, add more broth as the nettle rehydrates.

3. Its is okay, if the nettle leaves don’t absorb all of the broth.

4. Set aside.

5. Heat the oil on medium heat in a large skillet.

6. Add the onion, cumin seeds, salt and sauté for 3 minutes.

7. Add the garlic and the eggplant.

8. Cook, covered, until the eggplant turns translucent; stirring occasionally so it doesn’t stick.

9. Add the tomatoes, hydrated nettle leaves and broth, chili powder, coriander powder, ginger powder, and turmeric powder.

10. Stir everything together and cook.

11. Partially cover until the eggplant is soft and translucent and the sauce has thickened, approximately 10 minutes.

12. READY TO SERVE

NOTE AND REPEAT – PHRASE TO REMEMBER; Health is Wealth

THIS IS AN ENCLOSURE – will be at the end of all the blogs, for I stress; this daily routine will heal and keep your body cells happy.

As I end this blog, Dan and I for several years have shared our experiences with enjoying life while managing cancer. By keeping healthy, our routine daily has been walking (exercise), meditation (for stress), Qigong (exercise and for stress).

I know some will say they do not have enough time with work, kids and household chores!!!

Dan and I have put together videos from WALK AT HOME together on our website, that you can follow in home; when you have short periods of time and unable to go out. They are from 15 mins up to 30 mins depending on the miles. This is one of the first steps to making your cells happy!!

Also, meditation videos, help to lower stress and is also one of the first steps to making your cells happy; click on https://www.thejourneytogoodhealth.com/meditation

10 Minute Meditation for Self-Love

This 10-minute guided meditation for self-love can be enjoyed while mirror-gazing, or while sitting with eyes closed.

Either way, you will be guided to truly tap into the remarkable nature of your being.

You'll feel appreciation and awe towards who you are and build up the reservoir within you to *choose* to view yourself through the lens of love.

This will help you accept yourself as you are, no matter where you are on your path of developing a positive self-image.

“Surrender is a gift that you can give yourself. It’s an act of faith. It’s saying that even though I can see where this river is flowing, I trust it will take me in the right direction.” ~ Debbie Ford

We are still working on Qigong video’s to be posted on the website for easy access, until now you can go to the blog https://www.thejourneytogoodhealth.com/blog and on the right-hand side are hash #tag words, just click on the word #walk #Qigong #meditation. The post will pop up and then you can begin. Have fun with it!
