Hello Followers,

Welcome Monday!

This week we will be starting out with self-compassion practice.

Self-compassion is a journey that many of us must go on, particularly when it comes to chronic health issues or mental health recovery.

Self-compassion is the act of being compassionate towards yourself.

To be compassionate towards yourself means to treat yourself with kindness and consideration, especially during difficult times or hardship.

It is being able to cut yourself some slack and accepting ok, I am not perfect, but I do not need to add to this difficulty by being mean to myself.

In other words, it offers an alternative point of view to the typical inner critic that comes forth and tells us how awful we are when we make a mistake or are not exactly where we want to be in life.

It is meeting ourselves with gentle empathy and giving us permission to be human!

Being human is not about being any one way; it is about being as life creates you – with your own strengths and weaknesses, gifts and challenges, quirks, and oddities.

Self-compassion is essential in overcoming regret, as it involves treating oneself with kindness and understanding, often with the support of psychological interventions or therapy.

When individuals practice self-compassion, they create a nurturing internal environment that fosters healing and growth.

By offering themselves the same care and empathy they would give to a friend facing hardship, they can break free from the cycle of self-blame and self-criticism that often accompanies regret.

This process not only contributes to improved psychological well-being but also enhances their ability to cope with challenging emotions effectively.

Tomorrow the topic will be focus on the present and future.
