CONTINUING THE SERIES OF QUOTES ABOUT LIVING / ONE’S MIND SET/POSITIVE THINKING
Hello followers,
Yesterday was kind of a rainy day here in Virginia. The rain cut into our walking routine, nevertheless; we worked around it.
Even through the drizzle, we were able to walk some outside and then we walked inside the mall for the rest of the time. So, what is your positive word going to be this Friday? I decided to pick the word peaceful, for it starting the weekend out with good vibes.
The other day I was blogging on Dan’s and my conversation regarding common sense, which If you are one of the few unfortunate people whose “common sense” has been criticized in the past; there are a few tactics you can use to try to improve your standing among peers, friends, or family.
This one I’m good with; listen more! I’ve been listening for years by admitting that I may not always be the expert on a particular topic. We can learn from others, better assess the tone and mood of a conversation, and make sure you don’t take your foot off the pedal.
Dan has been doing this, getting feedback from others. If you are struggling with your behavior or words when dealing with others, talk to a trusted mentor or friend about the situation. Ask them to keep an eye on it, pay particular attention to your behavior, and give feedback on how you behave.
Think before you speak is what I need to practice more. A lack of common sense often manifests itself when you speak before you think or when you have trouble listening to others. Slow down and avoid making hasty decisions or speaking too quickly; patience can help you avoid many verbal gaffes.
Dan and I read books on the subject; self-improvement for personal development. I also share an information series throughout the blog on this topic. Focusing on interaction styles, learning about personality traits, and spending time in self-reflection can greatly benefit your common sense.
Another practice to sharpen your common sense is widening the horizon. Since “common sense” is based on personal experience, try to move out of your comfort zone, explore new beliefs and cultures, and see the world from the perspective of others. All of this will help to broaden your personal sphere of “common sense” for the better! Dan and I had the opportunity while living in Mexico to experience others’ beliefs and cultures.
QUOTES ABOUT LIVING
INTUITION
Intuition differs from the other senses in two distinct ways. First one, it is only a guide for most people and points in one direction, toward or away. Second one, it is the only sense that is not confirmed in the present moment; rather, the confirmation will take place in the future.
These two key differences are likely the reason why it’s questioned as a sense by many people.
Your intuition is a sense that has been given to you not to ignore but to use and to help you navigate through life. Trust your intuition. If something feels wrong, it probably is.
ONE’S MIND SET/POSITIVE THINKING
Improving your life starts with improving your mindset. Like Dan and I, you may find that these steps are a great start. Find the positive side of life’s challenges. Keep moving forward and don’t focus on how difficult life can be.
Think of the adventures you’re having in life because of these challenges. If things were straight and smooth, your life might be pretty uninteresting.
Think about the ways you’ve overcome challenges and become a better person because of them.
Dan has been improving in this quality, we’ve been focusing on adventures and overcoming some of our challenges.
Alter your reactions to life’s frustrations. We can often feel like we’re surrounded by life’s frustrations. Perhaps you lost weight and gained, or it rained like yesterday during our walking routine. When we get bogged down by frustrating events, we start to notice and get frustrated by minor things, like not finding a parking spot or hitting all the red lights in traffic. But if you alter your reaction to these frustrations, they won’t have such a strong hold over you. Since I started driving again, I have been frustrated with how fast the lights change to red.
Compare the current frustration to similar ones in the past. Will this frustration make a difference in the long run, or are you wasting your energy getting worked up over nothing? This phase, I feel we all need to be reminded of, are we wasting our energy when it is not going to be important latter on in the week.
If you hate traffic, plan ahead and listen to your favorite music in your car.
Take action to change the frustrating event! Make a change to fix the situation!
Tomorrow I’ll continue blogging on how to improve your life with improving your mindset.
THE JOY OF FRIENDS
The right friends can lift you up and restore your faith in yourself. Spending time with these people is never a drain because good friends will make you feel uplifted and happy.
Its important to have these people in your life as they can also be good sounding boards for any worries you may have, and of course they will make you laugh until you cry. Such friends are very rare, so cherish them, as they will never judge you for being yourself.

MY JOURNEY OF COMPLETION (Body, Heart and Soul) – Enjoy Life While Managing Cancer
This is the time to get ready for food and remedies that heal; alchemy of herbs. Today I’m going to continue blogging on the herb – NUTMEG. Now since I’m home from my mini vacation and have the book of recipes, later in the week I’ll share some with the ingredients of nutmeg.
Continuing on some more benefits of nutmeg. Nutmeg is one of the healthiest spices to help you burn fat. Nutmeg is high in fiber, protein, and good fats which will support your body in regulating insulin and result in increased weight loss. Not only is Nutmeg a powerful fat burner, but it also offers other health benefits. Nutmeg offers a wide assortment of minerals and vitamins which are well known to reduce fat mass.
Nutmeg is also rich in calcium which has been proven to help decrease the growth of fat cells in the body. The spice works in your body to get rid of harmful toxins and to flush out extra junk sugars from the blood. Nutmeg also aids in digestion which will give your metabolism an extra boost. When your metabolism is running more efficiently, you will retain less fat in your body and this reduces more weight over time. It’s a bonus that nutmeg tastes good.
NOTE AND REPEAT – PHRASE TO REMEMBER; Health is Wealth
