So, with love and light, my heart to your heart, let the journey begin.

CONTINUING SERIES ON BELIEVING AND SERIES OF HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO KEEP OUR BODY CELLS HAPPY

Hello Followers,

Woke up, with the sun shining through the cracks between the shades. It was telling me to rise and shine, its Thursday. At that time, I had a choice to either pull the covers over my head or get up and have a cup of coffee. What would you have done??

We all make a choice every day - whether to let our light shine by having a positive attitude or by having a negative attitude. We influence others around us whether we realize it or not.

Yesterday was a nice day on the Greenway and we got to three miles. Did you do your walking?

I know some will say they do not have enough time with work, kids and house hold chores!!! Dan and I have put together videos from WALK AT HOME together on our website, that you can follow in home; when you have short periods of time and unable to go out. They are from 15 mins up to 30 mins depending on the miles. This is one of the first steps to making your cells happy!!

Also, meditation videos, to lower stress and is also one of the first steps to making your cells happy; click on https://www.thejourneytogoodhealth.com/meditation . Again, they are no more then 10 to 20 mins and they are guided meditations.

We are still working on Qigong video’s to be posted on the website for easy access, until now you can go to the blog https://www.thejourneytogoodhealth.com/blog and on the right-hand side are hash # tag words, just click on the word #walk #Qigong #meditation. The post will pop up and then you can begin. Have fun with it!

Have you been keeping your body cells happy! Each type of cell in the human body is specially equipped for its role. Cells of the digestive system, for instance, are vastly different in structure and function from cells of the skeletal system. Cells of the body depend on each other to keep the body functioning as a unit. There are hundreds of types of cells, but the following are the 11 most common.

This week I have already gone over six of the most common cells; stem cells, bones cells, blood cells, muscle cells, fat cells and skin cells. Today I will post on the seventh most common cell, which is Nerve cells.

Nerve cells or neurons are the most basic unit of the nervous system. Nerves send signals between the brain, spinal cord, and other body organs via nerve impulses. Structurally, a neuron consists of a cell body and nerve processes. The central cell body contains the neuron's nucleus, associated cytoplasm, and organelles. Nerve processes are "finger-like" projections (axons and dendrites) that extend from the cell body and transmit signals.

Why should this matter to you? Well, a group of organs makes up an organ system and a group of organ systems make up the human body. So, if an organ is damaged, it means the cells and cell structure in the organ are also damaged.

In fact, the damage can decide the fate of the entire tissue or organ. The cell death pathways decide if it recovers or dies instead. This is why you have to keep them happy. Tomorrow’s cell we will be focusing on is, endothelial cells.

As I continue to be re-reading my book that I wrote four years ago; it’s a personal journey of my everyday experience with treatments that I received in Mexico. In relations to the current series of BELIEVING, entry 2010 - SHERYL'S JOURNEY THROUGH FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE

In the beginning, I feared the word cancer, but as I began my journey, I was able to smile, and laugh with giggles. I am blessed and humbled to share this experience with you and trust you have an open mind for the hope someday we accept this form of treatment.

“THE JOURNEY BEGINS”; From My Diary

I’ve been diagnosed with breast cancer. Daily I ask myself if I am selfish for not using the conventional way. People are diagnosed with this nasty sickness yearly and do not realize what to do other than accept what physicians tell us. I remember when I went to the surgeon and he said “it is what it is” how overwhelmed I was. I knew even before he said this that I was going toward a different way. But we are not given choices. We put our faith in the doctors and all they learn is the conventional training.

OVERFLOW

TODAY MAY YOUR WORRIES BE LIGHT. MAY YOUR JOY BE GREAT. MAY YOUR CUP OVERFLOW. #today #worries #light #joy #great #joy #cup #overflow #inspirational #motivational

My husband researched and found several types of treatments, but because they are not FDA-approved they are not performed in the USA. It’s amazing; Germany and Mexico provide other methods that work. I chose a path that will be an alternative to surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation methods that are conventionally used to kill the illness.

Other methods seek out the cause and enhance immunity. The whole principle is to manage the disease with a healthy lifestyle. I decided to do a journal of my experience for others to see how they can survive without it. Either way, you do have choices to walk your own path. It is as easy as googling on the computer. Within my writings, I give a website that provide other ways. This is a day to practice the power of choice. Choose the quality of mood you want. Whether you'll adopt a positive or negative attitude, the decision is up to you! Your goal is to realize you do have the ability to enhance your life each moment!

The will of a bending knee. The harvest of a living hope. Such mystery amazes me.

REST AND REPLENISH YOUR BRAIN

You wouldn’t lift weights at the gym every day or run a marathon every week because you know your muscles need time to rest and regain their strength. In the same way, to constantly bombard yourself socially, booking in dinners or drinks every night of the week, will just wear you down.

Take some time off seeing other people to regroup and rebalance. You’ll be sharper and have more fun when you’re with other people if you also spend some time relaxing on your own.

This is the time to get ready for food and remedies that heal; alchemy of herbs. Moving along, today we will continue to blog on HOLY BASIL and the benefits.

From the leaves to the seed, holy basil is considered a tonic for the body, mind, and spirit.

Different parts of the plant are recommended for treating different conditions; use its fresh flowers for bronchitis, use the leaves and seeds, with black pepper, for malaria, use the whole plant for diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting, use the pill and ointment form for eczema, use an alcohol extract for stomach ulcers and eye diseases, use an essential oil made from the leaves for insect bites.

Many studies support the use of the entire plant of holy basil for human use and its therapeutic value. The nutritional value is also high, as it contains; vitamin A and C, calcium, zinc, iron, chlorophyll.

All parts of the holy basil plant act as an adaptogen. An adaptogen is a natural substance that helps your body adapt to stress and promotes mental balance. The concept of an adaptogen is a holistic approach. But scientific research shows that holy basil has pharmacological properties to help your mind cope with many types of stress.

Extracts made from its leaves are thought to boost wound healing speed and strength. Holy basil is; antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, analgesic (a painkiller).

Some people even use holy basil after surgery to heal and protect their wounds. Holy basil increases your wound’s breaking strength, healing time, and contraction. Breaking strength refers to how much pressure or weight a wound can take before it breaks.

If you have prediabetes or type 2 diabetes, all parts of the holy basil plant can help reduce your blood sugar. Animal and human studies have shown that holy basil can help prevent symptoms of diabetes such as; weight gain, hyperinsulinemia, or excess insulin in the blood, high cholesterol, insulin resistance, hypertension.

Since holy basil targets metabolic stress, it can also help with weight loss and cholesterol levels. Animal studies saw significant changes in rabbits’ fat molecules when they ate fresh holy basil leaves. They had lower “bad” cholesterol (LDL-cholesterol) and higher “good” cholesterol (HDL-cholesterol).

Imagine being able to tackle stress, anxiety, and inflammation with a relaxing cup of tea made with the leaves of holy basil. As an adaptogen with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, holy basil provides all of these benefits. It can even help people with arthritis or fibromyalgia.

Holy basil can counteract the effects of stress-induced ulcers. It naturally increases your stomach’s defense by; decreasing stomach acid, increasing mucus secretion, increasing mucus cells and extending life of mucus cells.

When life seems overwhelming, are you able to engage in thinking positive that allows you to look ahead and see light at the end of the tunnel? BELIEVE AND YOU CAN!

Until Friday, MAY YOUR WORRIES BE LIGHT. MAY YOUR JOY BE GREAT. MAY YOUR CUP OVERFLOW.
