The best way to lengthen out our days is to walk steadily and with a purpose.

THIS WEEK CONTINUING ON, WHAT IS LIFE ABOUT AND WHAT IS THE MEANING OF LIFE? AND WHY DO WE EXIST? PLUS, CONTINUING ON THE BOOK TEN-MINUTE RELAXATION FOR MIND AND BODY.

Hello followers,

Happy Hump Day!

Do you know what that means, it is halfway through the work week.

Today is also the last day of summer in the United States.

The last day of summer is determined by the September or autumn equinox, which marks the first day of fall.

The astrological equinox is when the sun passes over the equator in a southward direction.

At the moment of the equinox, the sun shines directly on the equator, and both hemispheres receive the same number of rays.

Hurray tomorrow begins FALL!

Sept. 22 marks the first day of fall, which sadly and subsequently, marks the official ending of summer.

Summer is a season that represents youth, carefree attitudes, beauty, and free-spirited living, so when it is time to say goodbye to the summer; it can feel a little depressing.

Especially if you begin to think ahead to the long, chilly winter that awaits you in a few months.

Here is the thing though, without a winter; would any of us really appreciate the warm summer days as much as we do now?

By all these lovely tokens September days are here, with summer's best of weather and autumn's best of cheer.

Hurray tomorrow begins FALL!

So, until then let us begin as Dan and I have been blogging about our experiences with alternative treatments for cancer and the after care of keeping healthy; have taken it one step farther by adding a fundamental part of why we exist.

Last week we started to blog on the properties of life, characteristic traits.

Dan and I have posted on four characteristic traits: organization, metabolism, homeostasis, growth, and reproduction.

Today we will be exploring the sixth trait, Response-

Living organisms show irritability, meaning that they respond to stimuli or changes in their environment.

For instance - people pull their hand away, fast! from a flame many plants turn toward the sun; and unicellular organisms may migrate toward a source of nutrients or away from a noxious chemical.

Tomorrow, Evolution-

In combining our physical and mental functions, we can control our bodies and keep them healthy.

It took me a long time to realize this for myself.

Hopefully, this will help you, our followers.

So, let us discuss one of the seven life multipliers, that Dan and I had been posting on.

We’ve have posted on, self-empowerment and self-control, renewable vitality, and emotion mastery.

Today it is on, Conscious Communication-

With conscious communication, you understand others’ ideas and can express and deliver your own thoughts and feelings clearly.

SEPTEMBER – 21st, Dan and I thought on continuing this segment with the series with some fun; What is it about September that is so significant during this month?

World Gratitude Day – September 21, 2022

This day aims to remind us of the importance of expressing gestures of thanks and appreciation.

Understandably, sometimes we can get caught up in our busy lives and neglect to show how grateful we are for the people around us.

Many people believe that once you commit a simple act of kindness for someone, you do not need to manifest that kind of kindness repeatedly.

But if you do, it makes the world a better place.

After all, it is your world, and you must live in it!

Appreciation is a worldwide practice today and a personal one that we can all use to improve our lives, but it goes back to 1965.

World Gratitude Day was invented by Sri Chinmoy, a spiritual leader and meditation teacher.

It was conceived at a Thanksgiving dinner in the United Nations’ meditation room.

At the dinner, Chinmoy suggested the idea of a global holiday of gratitude.

Each person at the dinner pledged to hold an event in their home country every year on that holiday, and they all spent the rest of the evening discussing how they might spread the word about this new holiday.

The following year, in 1966, many countries observed the first annual World Gratitude Day on September 21, and the day has been celebrated annually ever since.

In 1977, the Spiritual League, a group of Chinmoy’s followers who ran the meditation room at his New York headquarters, requested that a resolution be passed recognizing World Gratitude Day.

Representatives from the Headquarters were in attendance to honor Chinmoy during the special ceremony.

Time is precious and is priceless, so Dan and I will continue each day to pull from a box of 365 inspirational quotes; one quote and share with you.

Today is:

WHEN WE ARE DEEPLY IN TOUCH WITH THE PRESENT MOMENT, WE CAN SEE THAT ALL ANCESTORS AND ALL FUTURE GENERATIONS ARE PRESENT IN US.

Today Dan and I will be continuing the book, ten-minute relaxation, For mind and body by Jennie Harding.

Whenever you are feeling under pressure, ten minutes is all you need to relax totally, using tools that are always with you; your senses.

This book is packed full of wonderfully simple ideas and exercises for using sight, taste, smell, hearing, and touch and that vital sixth sense of intuition to rebalance your energies and bring you back into harmony with the natural world around you.

Identify your favorite sensory relaxation solutions and combat that stress!

Per Dan and my experience this is another component in keeping ourselves healthy, meditation.

By using your five senses, you can learn to relax in just ten minutes.

CHAPTER 2; THE SENSORY JOURNEY; TASTE-

10 MINUTE EXERCISE-

Take a piece of paper and write down all the foods you have eaten in the last 48 hours.

Also, list the activities you have done and what mood you were in at the end of each day.

Compare this with the chart below.

How many acid and alkaline forming foods are you eating?

Consider your stress levels and perhaps try a few changes!

CHART-

ACID-FORMING FOODS:

Sugar, honey, fats and oils, white flour, beans, whole grains, cereals, red meat, fish, chicken, and eggs.

BUFFER FOODS:

Yogurt, cream, milk, butter, ice-cream, cheeses, tofu.

ALKALINE-FORMING FOODS

Fruits, salads, green vegetables, potatoes, sea vegetables, salt.

As I ponder over all that I have learned, I have come to the findings that we all have our own blueprint.

Our bodies are precious and there are many components in taking care of them.

Throughout the blog, Dan and I have related the separate ways through body, heart, and soul.

It is all about power of knowledge and learning to take care of yourself, keeping your cells happy.

Our immune system is one of the key factors in keeping healthy.

It is important to know how it works!

Germs and Viruses????

Darwin's theory evolved in his mind from his observations as a naturalist, and his concept of

natural selection is not in dispute.

The part of his theory which has always been disputed is the belief that the evolutionary changes are random, occurring entirely by chance.

When the complexity of a single living cell is contemplated, it is inconceivable that random chance events in the wide-open spaces or for that matter; intelligently directed events in a modern laboratory could ever have produced such an exquisitely complex thing.

And even given a complete living cell to start with, and unlimited time; the number of random mutations needed to produce even something as lowly as an earthworm is so infinitely great that for them to occur with the necessary precision and exact sequence by sheer accident is beyond the remotest possibility.

A humorous cartoon the author has never forgotten seeing in a color magazine years ago depicts an artist painting a portrait.

Disgusted that he cannot get it right, the artist throws all his different colored paints into a bucket and hurls it all at the canvas.

Then, looking back over his shoulder as he packs up his things to leave; he is suddenly transfixed.

His eyes pop out.

There smiling at him from the canvas, arms folded, in all her perfection, is the Mona Lisa!

Until tomorrow-

The PHRASE TO REMEMBER; Health is Wealth.

We stand by this and continue to do daily; walk, meditation, and Qigong.

LENGTHEN OUT OUR DAYS

The best way to lengthen out our days is to walk steadily and with a purpose. #thebestway#lengthen#ourdays#walks#istowalk#steadily#withapurpose

Until Thursday, the mystery of human existence lies not in just staying alive,

but in finding something to live for.
