The earth has never stopped moving, growing, evolving for anyone and neither should you.

TODAY DAN AND I ARE STARTING A NEW SERIES, WE ARE DESIGNED TO SURVIVE AND ON LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE. PLUS, THE BOOK TEN-MINUTE RELAXATION FOR MIND AND BODY.

Hello Followers,

Happy last Friday of July.

This morning Dan and I decided to start a new series on, we are designed to survive.

WHO OF us does not want to enjoy a long and happy life?

Just think how wonderful it would be if we could live forever in health and happiness!

We could spend more time with loved ones, travel the world, develop new skills, grow in wisdom, and learn thoroughly about whatever interests us, to our heart’s content.

Is such a desire unnatural?

Far from it!

The Scriptures tell us that God has put that desire within us. (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

They also say that “God is love.” (1 John 4:8)

Does it make sense that a loving God would create in us a desire to live forever and then make that desire impossible to realize?

Clearly, death is no friend.

In fact, the Bible describes it as an unwelcome “enemy.” (1 Corinthians 15:26)

For some it comes early; for others it comes later.

But it always comes.

For many, thinking about it is uncomfortable, even frightening.

Will this enemy ever be conquered?

Is that really possible?

We were designed to survive!

JULY – 29th, Dan and I thought on continuing this segment with the series with some fun; What is it about July that’s so significant during this month?

Since I grow up with Italian food, this day has a lot of meaning to me.

Lots of family gatherings.

National Lasagna Day – July 29, 2022

Tomato sauce, cheeses, meat and vegetables, all separated by wide flat noodles.

What’s not to love?

Lasagna first showed up in Naples, Italy during the Middle Ages and made it to America in the nineteenth century.

Since then, Americans have made it all their own.

So, this National Lasagna Day; head to your favorite Italian restaurant or pre-heat the oven and make your own.

The word lasagna originated from ancient Greece.

Essentially, the name stems from the word laganon; the earliest form of pasta.

Flattened sheets of dough sliced into thin strips were referred to as laganon.

Of course, the original form was very different from the assembled lasagna dish we enjoy today.

Layers of pasta slathered with sauce were present but without the essential Italian ingredients.

A similar dish was commonly prepared in ancient Rome, called lasanum, which means pot or container in Latin.

When referring to the food dish, Italians used the word for pot, which the meal was served in.

So, the word lasagna actually comes from the method of cooking it and not the ingredients.

The process of mixing flour and water dates back to the Middle Ages, resulting in lasagna as a popular dish.

In 1284, Salimbene di Adam described a chubby friar indulging in lasagna, saying, “I’ve never seen anyone stuffing himself on lasagna with cheese so pleasurably and so fully as him.”

The lasagna cooked in Northern Italy uses flat noodles, while the noodles used in Southern Italy are rippled.

The ingredients Italians use in the recipe depend on their family’s tradition and heritage.

This may be around the time cheese was incorporated into the recipe.

Adding egg to the dough didn’t popularize until the Renaissance period.

Tomato made its appearance in the recipe in Naples in the 1880s.

Layering lasagna became trendy in the 19th century, thanks to Francesco Zambrini from Bologna.

Also in the late 1800s, Italian immigrants brought their recipes, featuring béchamel, ragù, and Parmigiano-Reggiano to America.

The meat sauce was tweaked according to preference, while others added vegetables to the layers.

Time is precious and is priceless, so Dan and I will continue each day to pull from a box of 365 inspirational quotes; one quote and share with you.

Today is:

LEARN TO USE IN THE PRACTICAL ASPECTS OF YOUR LIFE, WE MAY CALL THIS CLOCK TIME. BUT IMMEDIATELY RETURN TO PRESENT MOMENT AWARENESS WHEN THOSE PRACTICAL MATTERS HAVE DEALT WITH.

Continuing from last year the series on LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE, by Elizabeth B. Brown.

Dan and I continue to share ways to benefit and help keep one’s health cells healthy.

A wise man told me ten years ago, when one is in balance with themselves; one stays healthy.

CHAPTER 18; SEE THE POSSIBILITIES-

FAITH CHANGES THE PERSPECTIVE

In truth, a screwed-up person is handicapped.

The problem isn’t a missing limb or disease.

If it were, people would be more merciful than they are to those with hurtful, irregular behaviors.

People tend to forgive ugly moods, agitation, and whining that is the by-product of disease or crisis.

But they are merciless with those handicapped by negative behaviors that just seem to be part of the persons personality.

By turning your anger at aberrant behavior into pity, you free yourself from the stranglehold the difficult person has over your emotions.

Criticism, like anger, may become habitual but is ineffective in bringing about change.

Allowing God to refocus your vision on a person’s strengths and neediness empowers you to hang in there, rather than giving up; when the going is tuff.

ENVISIONING YOUR SCREWED-UP PERSON AS HANDICAPPED CHANGES YOUR PERSPECTIVE.

Tomorrow, FAITH HELPS MEET THE CHALLENGE

Today Dan and I will be continuing on the book; ten-minute relaxation, For mind and body by Jennie Harding.

Whenever you are feeling under pressure, ten minutes is all you need to relax totally, using tools that are with you at all times; your senses.

This book is packed full of wonderfully simple ideas and exercises for using sight, taste, smell, hearing, and touch and that vital sixth sense of intuition to rebalance your energies and bring you back into harmony with the natural world around you.

Identify your favorite sensory relaxation solutions and combat that stress!

Per Dan and my experience this is another component in keeping ourselves healthy; meditation.

By using your five senses, you can learn to relax in just ten minutes

CHAPTER 1; WHAT IS STRESS?

WHY DO WE HAVE THESE REACTIONS?

The answer lies in our genes.

We still have bodies designed to cope with the lifestyle of our primitive ancestors.

Who relied on stimulation, the fight or flight response; to deal with danger?

However, we are exposed to stimulation of many different types to the modern world.

So, fight or flight reactions in our bodies happen too frequently.

If we do not allow enough time for recovery, we may well show signs of stress.

Continue tomorrow-

The PHRASE TO REMEMBER; Health is Wealth.

We stand by this and continue to do daily; walk, meditation, and Qigong.
