The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts.

CONTINUING THIS WEEK ON HAPPINESS AND ON LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE. ALONG WITH HOW SAFE IS MEXICO?

Hello Followers,

It’s Thursday and Veteran’s Day!

Yesterday Dan and I went on an adventure to Poplar Forest and Lynchburg, Va.

In memory of our veterans, there was a monument terrace in Lynchburg.

There are 132 steps, 10 landings, and 11 markers and monuments along the terrace.

Eight of the markers are devoted to military service while three commemorate civic milestones.

Monument Terrace now honors those who lost their lives in the American Civil War, the Spanish-American War, World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and Vietnam.

As I stood at the top of the stairs, remembering family and friends that were in one of the above wars; I realize how connected the love that each one had for our country.

Then minutes later going on Facebook, seeing my cousin in his military suit; with a message that he served in the United States Coast Guard.

Everything is connected.

Quantum physics has shown that just because you can’t see something; it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

Have you ever been thinking about someone when your phone rings and it’s them?

Or been to somewhere new yet had a sense of déjà vu?

A particle does not have to be material; it can also be a wavelength.

Particles communicate with each other even if they are over 14 miles apart.

Everything in the universe, human or not, broadcasts a distinct energy pattern, and this energy carries information. It is all connected.

Indigenous populations in ancestral territories around the world have never lost this knowledge, but somewhere down the road we did.

101 WAYS TO HAPPINESS; by Mike Annesley.

Since all the research of keeping healthy, leads to making your cells happy; this book will help your mental health to be happy.

That is the first step in keeping your cells happy and keeping your body healthy.

CHAPTER 1; HAPPILY, YOURSELF

Today, OUTWIT YOUR DEMONS-

Demons are habitual responses that damage our inner peace.

For example, difficulty in trusting a partner; caused by an ex-partner’s behavior.

Fighting demons can lead to stress and obsession; fleeing from them often leads to drink or other harmful habits.

Instead, get to know them.

Forgive yourself for having them, self-compassion will shrink them.

Make positive choices in life, based on self-awareness.

Such choices will leave no space for your demons to do their mischief.

WHAT WE RESIST, PERSISTS. By Carl Jung

Tomorrow, AVOID NEGATIVE SELF-TALK

QUOTES ABOUT LIVING

HAPPINESS

When each day starts, decide that it’s going to be a good day.

Decide to be happy.

As the day goes on, whenever something happens that prevents it; decide if you’ll continue to carry that thing throughout the day or if you can set it down and move on.

Traffic, a disappointment, and unexpected bill, a snide remark; decide if any of those things are more important than the happiness of the day.

If not, give them only as much attention as needed and carry on.

How many are you out there are left-handers?

I raise my left hand! When I was growing up, I learned everything right-handed; which made everything I did the wrong way.

WHY ARE THINGS SO TOUGH ON LEFT-HANDERS?

DID YOU KNOW?

A predominant number of architects are lefties.

Perhaps this is because the right-brain wiring makes left-handers better at thinking and visualizing in three-dimensions, which is ideal if you are designing a building.

CONTINUING THE SERIES ON HOW SAFE IS MEXICO?

THROUGH PICTURES

Dan and I grabbed an opportunity nine years ago, when we took on the adventure and moved to Mexico. Back then, we didn’t know what to expect, except that both of us were alive and ready for a change. We had been going to Tijuana for cancer treatments and knew somewhat what we were heading into. We ended up living in the center of the country however; better for travel purposes and it was nothing like what we had thought about. To this date, we are back in the states living in Virginia and what we took from Mexico was friendships, culture and understanding of their ways of life.

WITH PICTURES

Through thousands of pictures that I took, Dan and I are showing how safe Mexico is. There is a saying ‘A picture is worth a thousand words’; this is so true! A picture tells a story just as well as, if not better than, a lot of written words.

"Chinese proverb. One picture is worth ten thousand words."

So, we will be posting a gallery of pictures on each post, hopefully you will see each one has a story.

Today will continue the series on LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE, by Elizabeth B. Brown. Dan and I continue to share ways to benefit and help keep one’s health cells healthy. A wise man told me ten years ago, when one is in balance with themselves; one stays healthy.

CHAPTER 9 – LET THE PAST GO

Encouragement is an important support and is crucial; pushing is dangerous.

Help must keep a critical balance.

To little help and they may not make it.

Too much and they may never grow up or may rebel against what feels more like control than help.

Regardless of the composition of the other person’s problems, if you gloss over them, the person will probably never change.

But if you seek change actively, you may kill the relationship or become bitter if change doesn’t occur.

When someone is being pushed, it can be perceived as a put-down or a threat and can lead to clinging weakness, anger, rebellion, depression, or closed ears.

Continue tomorrow –

This is the time to get ready for food and remedies that heal; alchemy of herbs. In the coming week, Dan and I will be blogging the benefits of ELDER. It’s amazing what and how elder can help keep your body healthy?

Herbalists most commonly use the flowers and berries of elder, but the entire shrub has a long history of use, not only as medicine, but also for utilitarian objects and tools.

Elder wood has a pithy center.

This easily hollowed out center allows for the creation of various tools and instruments, such as flutes or blow guns or pipes.

Have some caution though: the pithy center of elder contains cyanide-producing glycosides that, when consumed in quantity, can cause a variety of problems, including death.

Drying or boiling the materials makes them safer to use.

Some other interesting historical uses of elder include; freshly crushed elder leaf placed in the nose to stop a nosebleed, elder blossoms and leaves to deter moths, an infusion made from the leaves to expel insects and pests on plants.

The inner bark used as a laxative and diuretic for edema, rheumatism, and gout, inner bark used as an ointment for burns and herpes.

Boil the green bark till the fluid is a soft extract.

Then combine with Vaseline and you have an excellent salve for old sores, eczema rubrum, etc. - TJ Lyle, Physio-Medical Therapeutics, 1897

NOTE AND REPEAT – PHRASE TO REMEMBER; Health is Wealth

THIS IS AN ENCLOSURE – will be at the end of all the blogs, for I stress; this daily routine will heal and keep your body cells happy.

As I end this blog, Dan and I for several years have shared our experiences with enjoying life while managing cancer. By keeping healthy, our routine daily has been walking (exercise), meditation (for stress), Qigong (exercise and for stress).

I know some will say they do not have enough time with work, kids and household chores!!!

Dan and I have put together videos from WALK AT HOME together on our website, that you can follow in home; when you have short periods of time and unable to go out. They are from 15 mins up to 30 mins depending on the miles. This is one of the first steps to making your cells happy!!

Yesterday Dan and I explored Poplar Forest, where one of only two homes Thomas Jefferson designed for his retreats.

Poplar Forest was the place where Jefferson came to indulge in the life of the mind and renew his personal creativity.
