The here and now is all we have, and if we play it right it’s all we’ll need.

Five lessons to live by as you follow your dreams

Learn to laugh!

Enjoy where you have been, where you are and where you’re going. Embrace the challenges you face along the way and cherish the memories you make. Remember that what you see in life depends mainly on what you look for. Celebrate the simple joy of living and open your heart to all life holds for you.

Learn to listen!

Take time to slow down and be still, for sometimes its only in silence you can hear your own heart.

Listen to the wisdom it whispers and remain true to your destiny. Don’t be afraid to admit when you are lost, because sometimes it’s only by becoming lost that you can finally discover who you are and what you want from life. Don’t be afraid to be yourself and be brave enough to become the person you were meant to be.

Learn to let go!

Allow your heart to heal from past hurts. Forgive failure and resolve regrets. Celebrate what was risked or attempted, improved or accomplished and recognize that those who make no mistakes rarely make anything else, either.

Learn to love!

Make commitments to what’s important to you. Take risks for the things that truly matter.

Remember love is not just something you feel, but the things you do. Give others the very best you have to offer and leave the world a better place for what have done and who you’ve been.

Learn to live!

Don’t be afraid of growing, changing or living your life. No matter where you go or what you do, the true joy of life lies in the journey not the destination. Search for your purpose, seek out your passions and do what you love. It’s not how long you live, but how you choose to live the days you are given. So, choose to make the most of every opportunity you receive. By Julie Anne Ford

1 Mile at Home Walk with Nick | Walking Workout

Walk 1 Mile with Nick! We are at home with Nick! This is a brand-new mile with Nick will give you a great walking workout in just 15 minutes. Happy Walking!

Busy day this Tuesday. This morning Dan and Sherry blogged on their site, meditated, read inspirational quotes and reading from Joel Osteen's - Your Best Life and books they have been blogging on. Did Qigong. Went to the doctors and after prepared the blog for tomorrow. Last but not least, went for a walk in the neighborhood. Now time for dinner. Health is wealth-

This is the time I’m going to start to talk about herbs. There are five tasting types of herbs! Can you guess what they are? Well, here we go –

Pungent are herbs that are warming and spicy. They are used to awaken the senses and get things moving.

Salty are herbs with high in vitamins and minerals. They are nutrient dense; considered the most nourishing and food like of all the herbs.

Sour are ones that make your mouth pucker up. Like salty herbs, the sour taste tends to be more subtle. Most fruits and astringent herbs are classified as sour.

Sweet are ones that nourish and builds. They can restore energy levels and modulate the immune system.

Last but not least; bitter herbs simulate digestion; often have a cooling and draining effect, which can help to modulate inflammation.

Alright, let start with black pepper! It is the emperor of digestive aids.

TRIKATU PASTILLES recipe

Don’t be intimidated by the name! Pastille is basically a fancy French word for pill. Trikatu is the name of a famous Ayurvedic herbal formula that is a simple combination of three pungent herbs; black pepper, ginger, and long pepper (peppercorn).

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper

1 tablespoon ginger powder

1 tablespoon long pepper powder

1 tablespoon honey

½ tablespoon licorice powder or orange-peel powder for coating the pastilles

Instructions

1. Mix together the black pepper, ginger and long pepper

2. Very slowly drizzle a small amount of liquid honey. A teaspoon over the herbs.

3. Continue adding honey. 1 teaspoon at a time, stirring in between until the powdered herbs become thick as a moldable paste.

4. To make each pastille take a pea size amount of paste and roll it gently between your fingertips until it forms a small ball.

5. Roll the pastille in the licorice or orange-peel powder to coat them.

6. Store in an airtight container. They should last up to six months.

This recipe is good for you if you have signs of colds or stagnant digestion – such as bloating and gas. This is also good for you if you have excess mucus.

STRENGTH IN SOLITUDE

The ability to spend some time in your own company has been linked to a life of increased happiness, satisfaction and lower stress levels. When you spend time alone, you can address any problems you haven’t had chance to contemplate. Plus, you’ll have more space to be creative and pay attention to your own needs.

Simple Joys

Bake a cake. The act of following a recipe can help you to calm down and destress as you focus on the task in hand. This means you won’t start worrying about what you might be missing out on.

Plus, you’ve got something tasty to take into work the next day or enjoy with a cup of tea on a relaxed afternoon.

Nothing can be accomplished without solitude. By Pablo Picasso

Until Wednesday, remember build your own dreams, or someone else will hire you to build theirs.
