Hello Followers,
Happy Sunday!
Expressing gratitude can be a bit uncomfortable.
However, on the receiving end, people crave it.
Knowing that someone feels grateful for you is a great feeling.
It’s important to appreciate others and let them know it with a simple thank you now and then.
What Is Gratitude?
Gratitude is a positive feeling one experiences after receiving something, such as support, love, or even a gift.
When one experiences gratitude, he or she should let the other person know to let their efforts be recognized.
People need to feel appreciated and expressing gratitude helps people meet their needs.
There are many benefits of gratitude for yourself and others.
Continuing, GRATITUDE AND HOW IT CHANGES OUR BRAIN TO BE HAPPIER.
So, how does gratitude impact the mind and body?
1 – Gratitude helps us move past toxic emotions
First, the researchers studied the words used by participants in both writing groups so they could understand how gratitude letter writing impacted mental health.
They compared the percentage of positive emotions words, negative emotion words, and “we” words (first-person plural words) that participants used in their letters.
The professors weren’t surprised to find that the participants in the gratitude letter group used more positive words and more “we” words than the other group.
However, the people who used more positive and “we” words didn’t necessarily have better mental health later.
Only when they used fewer negative words did participants report having improved mental health after the writing exercises ended. In fact, the lack of negative emotion words made the most significant difference in the mental health of those in the gratitude letter writing group.
This explained the mental health gap between the negative emotion group and the gratitude letter group.
This suggests that the gratitude letter exercise helps people focus on positive experiences and gratitude toward others, which can help keep the mind from ruminating on past negative experiences with people.
When you’re not focused on negative emotions and experiences, it makes it easier to focus on the abundance of positive emotions, you can feel just by shifting your perspective.
NOVEMBER 13th, Dan, and I thought on continuing this segment with the series with some fun; What is it about November that is so significant during this month?
International Tongue Twister Day – November 13, 2022
For International Tongue Twister Day, celebrated every second Sunday in November, don’t get your tongue tied this November 13.
We’re not talking about rolling or curling your taste-tester.
In fact, we’re looking at Peter Piper, the woodchuck, and all their friends.
Tongue twisters are a silly way to pass the time or practice pronunciation.
Shoot, you can even use them to practice a foreign language! It’s time to celebrate all the twisty things you can say with your tongue.
Give your tongue a good workout on International Tongue Twister Day on November 13.
Tongue twisters, the popular nonsensical sayings that are ridiculously hard to say (or deceptively easy, whichever way you want to look at it) might seem to be simply alliterative strings of words meant to trip up, well, your tongue but, as it turns out, tongue twisters are not random.
In which is why the popular ones, like Peter Piper and the woodchuck; have been around for a hot minute.
Tongue twisters have technically been around since as early as the 19th century when John Harris published “Peter Piper’s Practical Principles of Plain and Perfect Pronunciation,” which included a twisty tongue tango for every letter of the alphabet.
And while the book was meant to help children learn the fundamentals of speech mechanics, its titular twister garnered quite the attention and inspired a lot of lore about its namesake.
Speculation aside, it turns out Peter Piper was based on French horticulturalist Pierre Poivre, whose last name means ‘pepper’ in French.
Pierre was said to be exploring the viability of growing American spices in the French Mediterranean.
Whether you’re trying to master Peter Piper, the woodchuck, or even “The Guinness Book of World Records’” most difficult recorded tongue twister, “The sixth sick sheik’s sixth sheep’s sick,” you’re sure to get your tongue endlessly tied.

Every day brings a choice: to practice stress or to practice peace.
Rule number one is, do not sweat the small stuff. Rule number two is it all small stuff.
Many a calm river begins as a turbulent waterfall, yet none hurtles and foams all the way to the sea.
Our anxiety does not come from thinking about the future, but from wanting to control it.
It is not stress that kills us, it is our reaction to it.
The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing you will make one.
Gratitude helps us surrender the need to do it all, be it all, and oversee it all.
Time is precious and is priceless, so Dan and I will continue each day to pull from a box of 365 inspirational quotes; one quote and share with you.
Today is:
YOUR BELIEFS BECOME YOUR THOUGHTS, YOUR THOUGHTS BECOME YOUR WORDS, YOUR WORDS BECOME YOUR ACTIONS, YOUR ACTIONS BECOME YOUR HABITS, YOUR HABITS BECOME YOUR VALUES, YOUR VALUES BECOME YOUR DESTINY.
Today Dan and I will be continuing the book, Ten-Minute Relaxation, For Mind and Body by Jennie Harding.
Whenever you are feeling under pressure, ten minutes is all you need to relax totally, using tools that are always with you; your senses.
This book is packed full of wonderfully simple ideas and exercises for using sight, taste, smell, hearing, and touch and that vital sixth sense of intuition to rebalance your energies and bring you back into harmony with the natural world around you.
Identify your favorite sensory relaxation solutions and combat that stress!
Per Dan and my experience this is another component in keeping ourselves healthy, meditation.
By using your five senses, you can learn to relax in just ten minutes.
CHAPTER 2; THE SENSORY JOURNEY; SMELL
SMELL; TIME CYCLES AND RHYTHMS-
Your sense of smell can help you to link more closely into the rhythms of your day, such as when you wake up in the morning or when you start to wind down later.
A great deal of emotional and mental stress arises because of an inability to adapt to the body’s need to change temp at different times, insomnia, for instance; can occur because of an inability to switch off from the demands of the day.
Because the sense of smell is so allied to the brain centers responsible for the body’s internal chemical balance, it helps to shift mood and change perspectives very quickly.
Continue tomorrow-
As I ponder over all that I have learned, I have come to find that we all have our own blueprint.
Our bodies are precious and there are many components in taking care of them.
Throughout the blog, Dan and I have related the separate ways through body, heart, and soul.
It is all about power of knowledge and learning to take care of yourself, keeping your cells happy.
Our immune system is one of the key factors in keeping healthy.
It is important to know how it works!
Cancer: Civilization's - No. 2 Killer
Continuing today on Important--Note Well,
Cancer is often also linked with emotional factors such as worry and grief.
The two factors, physical injury and emotional stress, time and again precede the appearance of cancer, separately or together, and have often been thought to be primary causes of cancer.
However, cancer occurs only in tissue that is pre-cancerous beforehand, and that irritation and emotional stress are only secondary factors, irritation by its effect on triggering cell growth, and emotional stress by its effect on depressing the cancer-fighting ability of the body's immune system.
Probably in the same way emotional stress favors the onset of cancer, it has long been observed by physicians that people with melancholy personalities seem to be more prone to the disease, it being proposed there is such a thing as a "cancer personality".
On the other hand, it would seem more likely that the melancholy disposition is not a cause of cancer but, like the cancer itself, just another symptom of a toxic bloodstream.
