Hello Followers,
The week-end is almost coming to a close, and as I pull my thoughts together this morning; the word that comes to my mind is – AWAKENING.
This comes from the book, 101 WAYS TO HAPPINESS; by Mike Annesley.
Since all the research of keeping healthy, leads to making your cells happy; this book will help your mental health to be happy.
That is the first step in keeping your cells happy and keeping your body healthy.
AWAKENING
Sleeping bag, waking up.
The choice of metaphors is deliberate.
Wakefulness is all.
To be fully awake is to be fully aware; now, in the moment.
If you can attain a more mindful state of consciousness, you’ll inevitably gain in self-knowledge and once this has happened, you’ll be well placed to make carefully considered changes about the way you want to live.
You’ll be able to grow out of any negative thinking and damaging behavior, replacing these with positive approaches you already know will make a difference to your quality of life; your happiness.
At moment, in some aspects of your life; you’re probably snoozing on the threshold of a new day.
Wake up fully now and decide which of the 101 ways you want to try first, which Dan and I will be posting daily.
Morning has broken.
MORNING HAS BROKEN - Cat Stevens (Lyrics)
Until tomorrow –
Yesterday, I posted that Dan and I was going to our local Veteran’s Day Parade.
So, Dan and I would like to take a few minutes to honor our VETERANS for their service.
Much to our surprise, it was longer than we thought; bands, floats, motorcycles, antique cars. The Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy and, most recently, Space Force had representatives to honor the veterans.

To understand how important this day November 11th is, going back to World War I; known at the time as “The Great War”.
Which officially ended when the Treaty of Versailles was signed on June 28, 1919, in the Palace of Versailles outside the town of Versailles, France.
However, fighting ceased seven months earlier when an armistice, or temporary cessation of hostilities, between the Allied nations and Germany went into effect on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.
Veteran’s Day Parade; ROANOKE, VA - 2021
For that reason, November 11, 1918, is generally regarded as the end of “the war to end all wars.”
In November 1919, President Wilson proclaimed November 11 as the first commemoration of Armistice Day with the following words: "To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations."
The original concept for the celebration was for a day observed with parades and public meetings and a brief suspension of business beginning at 11:00 a.m.
An Act approved May 13, 1938 and made the 11th of November in each year a legal holiday; a day to be dedicated to the cause of world peace and to be thereafter celebrated and known as "Armistice Day."
Armistice Day was primarily a day set aside to honor veterans of World War I, but in 1954, after World War II had required the greatest mobilization of soldiers, sailors, Marines and airmen in the Nation’s history; after American forces had fought aggression in Korea, the 83rd Congress, at the urging of the veteran’s service organizations, amended the Act of 1938 by striking out the word "Armistice" and inserting in its place the word "Veterans."
With the approval of this legislation on June 1, 1954, November 11th became a day to honor American veterans of all wars.
The first Veterans Day under the new law was observed with much confusion on October 25, 1971.
It was quite apparent that the commemoration of this day was a matter of historic and patriotic significance to a great number of our citizens, and so on September 20th, 1975, President Gerald R. Ford signed Public Law; which returned the annual observance of Veterans Day to its original date of November 11, beginning in 1978.
This action supported the desires of the overwhelming majority of state legislatures, all major veterans service organizations and the American people.
The restoration of the observance of Veterans Day to November 11 not only preserves the historical significance of the date, but helps focus attention on the important purpose of Veterans Day.
This day is a celebration to honor America's veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.
QUOTES ABOUT LIVING
HAPPINESS
Consider those you love in your choices, but if your choices conflict with their expectations of you; then you have to decide whether trying to be who they want you to be or being who you really are is ultimately more important to everyone’s long-term happiness.
You can pretend for only so long, but you can be yourself until your very last breath.

Outer beauty pleases the EYE. Inner beauty captivates the HEART.
Are you what others say and think you are? Or are you who you are regardless of what others say and think?
Every path toward self-discovery is a valid one.
Cry. Forgive. Learn. Move on. Let your tears water the seeds of your future happiness.
It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness.
True happiness is to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future.
Until you are happy with who you are, you will never be happy with what you have.
How many are you out there are left-handers?
I raise my left hand! When I was growing up, I learned everything right-handed; which made everything I did the wrong way.
WHY ARE THINGS SO TOUGH ON LEFT-HANDERS?
Southpaw Patrick Bartholomew Ahern (better known as Bertie), was the Lord Mayor of Dublin before he became the youngest ever; Taoiseach or prime minister of Republic of Ireland in 1997.
Ahern helped to broker a cease-fire by the Irish Republican Army and a peace agreement in Northern Ireland.
ZIP code 25251 is dedicated to left-handers.
Left hand, West Virginia certainly has right-handers.
But it’s safe to say that everyone there is a true – LEFT-HANDER.

CONTINUING THE SERIES ON HOW SAFE IS MEXICO?
THROUGH PICTURES
Dan and I grabbed an opportunity nine years ago, when we took on the adventure and moved to Mexico. Back then, we didn’t know what to expect, except that both of us were alive and ready for a change. We had been going to Tijuana for cancer treatments and knew somewhat what we were heading into. We ended up living in the center of the country however; better for travel purposes and it was nothing like what we had thought about. To this date, we are back in the states living in Virginia and what we took from Mexico was friendships, culture and understanding of their ways of life.
WITH PICTURES
Through thousands of pictures that I took, Dan and I are showing how safe Mexico is. There is a saying ‘A picture is worth a thousand words’; this is so true! A picture tells a story just as well as, if not better than, a lot of written words.

"Chinese proverb. One picture is worth ten thousand words."
So, we will be posting a gallery of pictures on each post, hopefully you will see each one has a story.
Today will continue the series on LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE, by Elizabeth B. Brown. Dan and I continue to share ways to benefit and help keep one’s health cells healthy. A wise man told me ten years ago, when one is in balance with themselves; one stays healthy.

CHAPTER 9 – LET THE PAST GO
Today, WHAT CAN YOU DO?
Many families, office, organizational, or friend groups spin their lives around the actions of one of the members.
Dealing with a difficult person can dominate the conversations and thoughts of the group.
The family or group does need to talk about a difficult person, but it must be productive talk.
Too often no positive action is taken because no one can see past the problem to figure out what to do.
Healthy interconnectedness is the product of dealing with the problem, rather than ignoring it.
Healthy families and groups learn how to be safety valves for each other, venting the pressure of dealing with the challenging member.
Continuing tomorrow –
This is the time to get ready for food and remedies that heal; alchemy of herbs. In the coming week, Dan and I will be blogging the benefits of ELDER. It’s amazing what and how elder can help keep your body healthy?
While elderflowers are most commonly used for fevers, they also offer many benefits for the skin.
One mechanism of this action could be elderflower’s effects on the “periphery” of the body.
Because a warm tea of elderflowers promotes diaphoresis, or sweating, this action moves stagnancy and can be a gentle form of natural detoxification for the skin.
Elderflowers historically were often used as external preparations as a tea wash or infused in oil for a cream or salve.
Elderflower washes or lotions are perfect for red and inflamed skin conditions, such as irritated rashes, sunburn, and rosacea.
Elderflower water used to be a very common beauty regimen.
Recent in vitro research has shown that elderflower preparations used topically have the potential for broad spectrum UV protection.
Elder flowers are diaphoretic and sudorific in proportion to the quantity administered, but find their principal employment in external applications, as for fomentations and poultices to swellings, and in the earlier stages of gatherings, boils, and abscesses, to discuss any collection of lymph; an ointment, also, is prepared from them, which is suitable in those cases where a cooling and emollient application is desired, as for cracks and chaps in the hands, lips, nipples of the breasts, and for similar purposes.
