To be truly happy, you need a clear sense of direction.

CONTINUING ON SERIES, SOMETHING BIGGER THAN YOURSELF AND ON LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE. PLUS, THE HERB – COFFEE AND DANDELION.

Hello Followers,

HAPPY WEEK-END.

Dan and I wish you a fun filled week-end.

For most, this will be a four-day week-end, stay safe.

"He who has a why can bear anyhow."

The how are the strategies for getting the work done, achieving your goals, but without knowing the driving reason behind it, you'll be hard pressed to stay on track, no matter how great those strategies are.

Think of the "how" as the engine.

It will make movement happen and get you forward. The "why" is the fuel.

Professionals describes the "why" in terms of four levels.

As I continue on the series, something bigger than yourself; Dan and I will each day post the four levels.

Today we will start with the first level, individual goals.

At this basic level, you're concerned mainly with what you have and achieve, be it a certain amount of money or standard of living, a specific job or goal, for none other than the pleasure and satisfaction it creates for you and you alone.

Stay tune for more levels!

SOMETHING BIGGER THAN YOURSELF.

Since it’s May, Dan and I thought it would be fun to share what is it about May that’s so significant during this month?

Let’s take a look at this a-may-zing month!

On this day MAY 27; National Sunscreen Day.

Rub and absorb that lotion, cream, or spray before enjoying the warmth and light of summer.

It’s valid to be concerned about some of the ingredients in popular commercial sunscreens, but that doesn’t mean that you should skip sunscreen altogether.

There’s a ton of research to show that sunscreen reduces your risk of sunburn, which in turn lowers your risk of the lesions that can lead to melanoma.

Of course, use common sense about the limits of what sunscreen can do.

Even water-resistant sunscreen should be reapplied every two hours for best results.

Sitting in the shade, wearing sun-protective clothing and a hat, and limiting your total sun exposure time should be additional parts of your sun-protection plan.

Here’s what you’ll need to make your own homemade sunscreen:

Ingredients:

1/4 cup coconut oil

1/4 cup cocoa butter

1/4 cup shea butter

1/4 cup almond oil

1/4 cup beeswax

1/4 cup non- zinc oxide

15 drops essential oil optional

Instructions:

1. Fill a saucepan with a few inches of water and place on medium heat (or use a double boiler).

2. Add the first five ingredients (all except the zinc oxide and essential oil) to a double boiler

(I use a quart-sized glass jar).

3. Put the jar with the ingredients in the pan of heating water.

4. As the ingredients start to melt, stir to combine.

5. Remove from heat and allow mixture to cool a bit.

6. Add in the zinc oxide and essential oil to the jar or double boiler (I use 10 drops of lavender and 5 drops frankincense, but you can try other combinations. The only caution is with citrus oils, as they can increase sun sensitivity.)

7. Whisk the ingredients well with a fork. As the mixture continues to cool, stir a few more times to make sure it is well blended.

8. Pour the finished sunscreen into a glass jar for storage, and store at room temperature.

Notes; To use, apply a thick layer to skin before sun exposure.

Be sure to reapply sunscreen every couple of hours, more often if you're in the water.

It’s also National Heat Awareness Day.

This health holiday cannot get any hotter, keep it cool on National Heat Awareness Day.

It’s also, National Road Trip Day.

Think you know all about the ‘Great American Road Trip’?

We’ll see about that!

Tell us about one of your great American Road Trips.

Dan and I would love to hear from you!

Time is precious and is priceless, so Dan and I will continue each day to pull from a box of 365 inspirational quotes; one quote and share with you.

CHAPTER 15; TOUCH WITH WORDS

DO WHAT YOU MUST DO-

Twisted entanglements in relationships are powerful drivers of the emotions.

You may want to be nice, but your communication ends up sounding like a cry of despair rather than words of encouragement.

You feel like the screwed-up person in your life has you in a vice that is getting tighter and tighter.

How are you supposed to be distanced from a person who is bound to you by deeply ingrained needs?

You feel desperate to communicate what you want, think, and need.

Your emotions are frayed hot wires.

Continue tomorrow -

This is the spot that Dan and I have been posting, on the time to get ready for food and remedies that heal; alchemy of herbs.

Today we are starting on a new herb; DANDELION and the benefits.

It’s amazing what and how dandelion can help keep your body healthy?

This week we’re going to post some of the key health benefits that you can find when using dandelion.

Diabetes is one of the fastest-growing threats to public health, especially in countries like the United States where obesity rates are rapidly rising and thus increasing the risk of type 2 diabetes.

Dandelion is a natural diuretic which means it can help you urinate more often.

It does this by helping your bladder fill up and empty out more often, thus increasing the rate at which it cycles.

By urinating more often, you’ll be able to reduce the amount of sugar in your blood which can, in turn, relieve some of the symptoms associated with hyperglycemia; also known as high glucose.

You might worry that your blood sugar will drop too low if you have too much dandelion tea.

However, dandelion actually helps your body regulate blood sugar meaning you’ll stay in the sweet spot rather than dropping too low or rising too high.

The PHRASE TO REMEMBER; Health is Wealth.

We stand by this and continue to do daily; walk, meditation, and Qigong.
