True happiness is to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future.
CONTINUING ON A NEW SERIES ON; HAPPINESS AND ON LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE. ALONG WITH HOW SAFE IS MEXICO?
Hello Followers,
It’s the week-end, cool weather here in Roanoke, Va.
What’s it like where you live?
Dan and I went to our local mall yesterday for our walk, for it’s getting real cold outside.
There is a lot of older people like ourselves that also walk around the stretch of the mall.
With the walking app that I have, it takes 4 times around that makes up 2 miles.
ENJOY THE SLIDE SHOW
As we were walking around, we noticed that they were putting up the Christmas decorations.
Wow, it is not Thanksgiving until 20 more days and already putting Christmas cheer out.
After, there is a Barnes and Noble right across within the same parking lot, which we stopped to update our Lyft app and yes; for some coffee.
Before leaving Dan and I went to the discount book section.
I selected another book for the blog, 101 WAYS TO HAPPINESS; by Mike Annesley.
Since all the research of keeping healthy, leads to making your cells happy; this book will help your mental health happy.
That is the first step in keeping your cells happy and keeping your body healthy.
So, today I will share the introduction with you.
Are you happy!
The question might to some people seem naïve or unread, like have you found the secret of eternal life?
To answer, you might need to stop and think a while.
Some might say, yes, I’m happy with reservations.
This is a good response.
Anyone who can offer it sincerely is well placed to live a fulfilling life.
For you, if you fall into this category; the purpose of this book and posting on this blog is to indicate that maybe you’re even happier than you might imagine.
And that further happiness might be available if you’re prepared to put a little thought into how you can tackle your challenges more effectively, make some adjustments to your lifestyle or attitudes.
Seize some of the opportunities that are there for taking.
If you’re among these who answer, no; unfortunately, I can’t claim to be happy, you have plenty to look forward to.
This book and series are for you as well.
Perhaps you’re looking in life through grey-tinted spectacles.
Perhaps you have an elevated idea of happiness as continual joy, putting a perpetual smile on your face.
To have a more realistic view of what happiness consists of is not to underrate its life-transforming impact.
Whether your answer is yes with reservations or no, not at all, the insights offered here are designed to give you a heightened sense of well-being that is well within your grasp of you’re open to new ways of thinking and living.
These are the ways to happiness, in the new series; the pathways for you to explore.
Just try, say half a dozen of them initially you’ll soon notice the difference.
QUOTES ABOUT LIVING
HAPPINESS
The only outcome you can be certain of is the one that has already happened.
You may think if only you’d done something differently, or if only someone else had; things would be better than they are today.
But thinking that way will leave you disappointed with your life as it turned out.
More than likely, if one thing had been different; it would not have led to a much more wonderful life, than you have right now.
What people thought was important or not at the time would still have been the same.
People were how they were, knew what they knew, cared about what they cared about and did what they did.
Given those things, this is the only outcome that was ever really possible.
And you know, if you look at what could have happened but didn’t; the good choices you made and how you realized things when you did and not years later in life.
Then now as it is, exactly as it is; becomes a pretty good place after all.
How many are you out there are left-handers?
I raise my left hand! When I was growing up, I learned everything right-handed; which made everything I did the wrong way.
WHY ARE THINGS SO TOUGH ON LEFT-HANDERS?
Do you know what two Presidents/Vice President teams were both left-handed?
Well, it was Gerald Ford/ Nelson Rockefeller and Ronald Reagan/George H.W. Bush.
Another great left-hander was Iuliana Semenova of the former USSR and is the tallest; almost 7’2”.
She is the heaviest; 284 pounds, female Olympic gold medalists of all time.
Also, Iuliana won gold medals in women’s basketball in the 1976 and 1980 summer games.

CONTINUING THE SERIES ON HOW SAFE IS MEXICO?
Dan and I grabbed an opportunity nine years ago, when we took on the adventure and moved to Mexico. Back then, we didn’t know what to expect, except that both of us were alive and ready for a change. We had been going to Tijuana for cancer treatments and knew somewhat what we were heading into. We ended up living in the center of the country however; better for travel purposes and it was nothing like what we had thought about. To this date, we are back in the states living in Virginia and what we took from Mexico was friendships, culture and understanding of their ways of life.
Through thousands of pictures that I took, Dan and I are showing how safe Mexico is. There is a saying ‘A picture is worth a thousand words’; this is so true! A picture tells a story just as well as, if not better than, a lot of written words.
19 PICTURES - ENJOY THE SLIDE SHOW
"Chinese proverb. One picture is worth ten thousand words."
So, we will be posting a gallery of pictures on each post, hopefully you will see each one has a story.
Today will continue the series on LIVING SUCCESSFULLY WITH SCREWED-UP PEOPLE, by Elizabeth B. Brown. Dan and I continue to share ways to benefit and help keep one’s health cells healthy. A wise man told me ten years ago, when one is in balance with themselves; one stays healthy.

CHAPTER 9 – LET THE PAST GO
Today continuing, THE ROOT OF UNHAPPINESS
Longing is an obsession.
You can’t get your mind off a person or problem.
You don’t know what you can do, if anything; to make any difference but you desperately want to help somebody or something to change.
You fantasize the possibilities, worry, and fret.
Perhaps you love someone who is in trouble, someone who is out of control.
His or her problems may be emotional, an eating disorder, gambling, alcoholism, or a lot of isms put together.
Or perhaps you are dealing with someone who is simply a jerk.
Their unreasonableness drives everyone else crazy
.
They may be self-centered or unable to keep commitments.
They may have a negative attitude or show a constant lack of consideration or respect.
If you don’t adopt their opinion or give in, regardless of how it affects you; suddenly you are the bad guy.
You are embarrassed or humiliated by the unreasonable, demanding, demeaning, or irresponsible attitude.
You may plaster excuses around the irregular behavior, wanting to protect someone from being hurt or not wanting to believe the truth because it hurts or is partially true.
So, you hide and are inundated with longing.
This is the time to get ready for food and remedies that heal; alchemy of herbs. In the coming week, Dan and I will be blogging the benefits of ELDER. It’s amazing what and how elder can help keep your body healthy?
Elderberries are high in vitamin C (52.2 milligrams per cup) and dietary fiber (10.2 grams per cup).
One cup of elderberries also has: 26.7 grams of carbs, 0.7 grams of fat, 1 gram of protein.
Elderberry is an antioxidant, and researchers think the compound that makes it blue lowers inflammation.
NOTE AND REPEAT – PHRASE TO REMEMBER; Health is Wealth
THIS IS AN ENCLOSURE – will be at the end of all the blogs, for I stress; this daily routine will heal and keep your body cells happy.
My daily walk yesterday with Dan, in our local mall.
Looks like the holidays are beginning.
As I end this blog, Dan and I for several years have shared our experiences with enjoying life while managing cancer. By keeping healthy, our routine daily has been walking (exercise), meditation (for stress), Qigong (exercise and for stress).
I know some will say they do not have enough time with work, kids and household chores!!!
Dan and I have put together videos from WALK AT HOME together on our website, that you can follow in home; when you have short periods of time and unable to go out. They are from 15 mins up to 30 mins depending on the miles. This is one of the first steps to making your cells happy!!
Also, meditation videos, help to lower stress and is also one of the first steps to making your cells happy; click on https://www.thejourneytogoodhealth.com/meditation
Cultivate Joy and Happiness: 20 Minute Guided Mindfulness Meditation
Thank you for joining me today for this 20-minute guided mindfulness meditation to cultivate joy and happiness.
Although it may not always feel like it, joy can be your choice rather than a condition of if something happens or if you get something, then you experience joy.
For today, let go of the “I’ll be happy when” mindset.
See your joy as available to you just on the other side of a door, you simply need to open it and let joy into your heart.
Today, bring joy intentionally into your world and heart.
Find ease in stressful or challenging times and spread joy to your loved ones and around the world.
“Surrender is a gift that you can give yourself. It’s an act of faith. It’s saying that even though I can see where this river is flowing, I trust it will take me in the right direction.” ~ Debbie Ford
We are still working on Qigong video’s to be posted on the website for easy access, until now you can go to the blog https://www.thejourneytogoodhealth.com/blog and on the right-hand side are hash #tag words, just click on the word #walk #Qigong #meditation. The post will pop up and then you can begin. Have fun with it!
TRUE HAPPINESS
True happiness is to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future. #true#happiness💕 #enjoylife#present#without#anxious#dependence#upon#future#inspirational#motivational
Until Saturday, I am determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may find myself. For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstance but by our disposition.
